Socialite, Zari Hassan looks to be eyeing something in the tourism realm, if the photos that emerged of a meeting with Uganda’s Minister for Tourism are anything to go by.

The South African based socialite and ex-lover of Tanzanian singing star, Diamond Platnumz held a meeting with State Minister for Tourism, Godfrey Kiwanda Ssubi at the Ministry headquarters this week.

But the details of the meeting remain scanty.

On Thursday, Zari posted on Twitter that she and the Minister were collaborating on something “major”.

A selfie of her and Kiwanda was captioned: “With Minister Godfrey Kiwanda of Tourism and Wildlife Uganda planning something major…. #UgandaTourism”.

In the photo, Zari is holding what appears to be a travel guide titled ‘Uganda Tourism Catalogue: Journey through the Pearl’.

The photos have left many on social media guessing. In fact, Mukono municipality MP, Betty Nambooze joked about the development saying the Minister had discovered a tourist attraction in Zari.

“Next on, we want to congratulate Minister Kiwanda for discovering and launching a new tourist attraction in the names of Zari. Kino kisufu,” Nambooze wrote on her timeline.

Efforts to reach Hon Kiwanda to unearth details of the said partnership were fruitless as he could not be easily accessed on his known contacts.

Spectators are speculating that Zari could have scooped a juicy deal with the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities. If this is true, then it will be another strategic move from the side of Zari following a recent deal with the Bryan White Foundation whose activities revolve around empowerment of youth.
