Watu Credit Uganda Marks 5th Anniversary with Blood Donation Drive

Watu Credit Uganda hosted a blood donation drive as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The event that took place at the company’s Call Centers along Bukoto Street and Ndeeba Branch, also marked the company’s 5th Anniversary.

Under the theme “Donate Blood and Save a Life,” the blood donation drive was organized in collaboration with the Uganda Blood Transfusion Services.

The event was also used to highlight the significance of donating blood in saving lives.

According to Uganda Blood Transfusion Services, 100 units of blood were collected. the units can potentially save up to 300 lives, providing critical support to hospitals and emergency services.

In his remarks, Armands Supstiks, Deputy Country Manager, expressed his appreciation for the support received during the drive.

He underscored the company’s commitment and dedication towards supporting the communities in which they operate.

“This initiative is about more than saving lives; it’s a testament to our commitment to enhancing safety measures and supporting those impacted by boda boda accidents. We are deeply thankful to our staff and community members who heeded our call to donate,” Supstiks added.

Watu Credit has financed over 150,000 motorcycles in the last five years, providing individuals with electric and fuel-powered transportation options, and has also issued over 60,000 smartphone loans, helping individuals stay connected. Over the past five years, this, has positively impacted the lives of almost a million Ugandans.

As they celebrate their 5th anniversary, the company is looking forward to a future filled with greater impact.
