Vipers SC Crowned Uganda Premier League Champions for Record 7th Time

Hoima — Vipers Sports Club have cemented their place in Ugandan football history, clinching their 7th StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) title after a convincing 2-0 victory over Kitara FC in a decisive away match held in Hoima city.

The reigning champions secured the title with goals from Mulongo in the 14th minute and Yunus in the 67th minute, silencing the home crowd at Kitara’s ground and confirming their dominance in the 2024/25 season.

With this latest triumph, Vipers SC continue to assert itself as one of the country’s football powerhouses.

The match, heavily contested in midfield, saw standout performances, particularly from Marvin Joseph Youngman, who was praised by the club for “bossing the midfield” in a critical fixture.

On social media, the club jubilantly declared, “Championes, Championes, Ole! Ole! Ole!” as fans and partners poured in congratulatory messages.

Kitara FC, who put up a spirited season, extended a message of sportsmanship saying, “Congratulations @VipersSC.”

Rival title contenders NEC FC were also acknowledged in a classy gesture by Vipers SC, thanking them for “pushing us all the way to the end.”

Sponsors Hima Cement, Plascon, and ZC joined in the celebrations. Hima Cement, a long-time backer of the club, proudly stated, “Hima Cement stands with champions, always.”

Vipers SC now look ahead to continental competitions with renewed confidence, and fans are already calling for back-to-back titles.
