Uganda’s High Commissioner to Kenya, H.E. Dr Hassan Wasswa Galiwango, has died.
Amb Galiwango died at Nairobi Hospital in Kenya where he had been admitted.
“He passed on this morning January 16, 2023, at 7:30 am at Nairobi Hospital where he has been undergoing treatment,” announced Amb Charles Ssentongo on behalf of the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Amb Ssentongo said burial arrangements will be announced later.
Amb Galiwango was a husband to Masitulah Galiwango, Hon. Connie Galiwango Nakayenze and Hajat Sheru Galiwango.
He was the first Ugandan diplomat to present letters of credence to the President of Seychelles.
Amb Galiwango has been serving as Uganda’s High Commissioner to Kenya, Seychelles and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Program and UN-HABITAT.
He was appointed by President Museveni on June 16, 2021.
Prior, he worked as the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Director of Finance and Administration.
