Uganda Women’s National Team off to Tanzania for CECAFA U18 Women’s Championship

Uganda U18 Women’s National Team head coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi has named the final squad for the upcoming CECAFA U18 Women’s Championship.

The gaffer confirmed a squad comprised of 20 players that will feature at the regional championship that starts on 25th July and will run up to 3rd August in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The team left for Tanzania on Sunday morning (2:45 AM) aboard Ethiopian Airlines with FUFA Executive Committee Member Agnes Mugena as the Leader of the Delegation.

The team has had several practice games this week with the latest coming on Saturday against FUFA Women Super League Champions Kampala Queens and it ended in a goalless draw at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

The Championship will have five teams competing including Uganda, hosts Tanzania, Ethiopia, Burundi and Zanzibar with games played in a round-robin format.
