Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), the country’s leading alcoholic beverages manufacturer, has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to supply Ugandan Missions abroad with its products.
The deal aligns with the government’s agenda on national socio-economic transformation by supporting export trade and advancing the Buy Uganda, Build Uganda (BUBU) strategy.
At the signing ceremony, UBL Managing Director Andrew Kilonzo hailed the partnership as a strong signal of public-private collaboration aimed at promoting Ugandan manufacturing on the global stage.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase our rich, authentic Ugandan brands internationally while generating value for both UBL and the Government,” Kilonzo said. “It will also promote trade, industry, and boost Uganda’s hospitality and tourism sector.”
Under the agreement, UBL will provide select products quarterly for sampling at diplomatic and stakeholder events, and will be allowed to brand and showcase its offerings at mission and headquarters events abroad.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Bagiire Vincent Waiswa, noted that the initiative supports Uganda’s Economic and Commercial Diplomacy program, which aims to find global markets for locally made products.

“This MoU ensures Ugandan products are visible at our events abroad and supports the government’s export-led growth strategy. It aligns with our ATMS priority areas: Agro-industrialisation, Tourism, Mineral Development, and Science & Technology,” Waiswa said.
The Ministry pledged to facilitate product sampling and share market insights with potential investors interested in the export and import of UBL products, including Uganda Waragi.
