A Uganda Christian University (UCU) student,l has died in an accident enroute to his graduation ceremony.
Alex Khaukha, a student of Information and Technology, passed on together with his father on Friday morning in Kamonkoli as they were traveling to the UCU main campus in Mukono for the latter’s graduation.
According to Traffic Police Spokesperson, Faridah Nampiima, the fatal accident was registered at Kamonkoli village along Mbale-Tirinyi road.
She said the accident involved motor vehicle registration number UAY 740k (Toyota Noah) that rammed into a stationary broken down motor vehicle registration number UAS 427P (Sino truck), killing one on spot.
She identified the deceased as Khauka Alex aged 24 yrs, and Gidudu Siraj aged 50 years who died on arrival at Mbale regional referral hospital.
The two were all residents of Nasasa village, Busambe parish, Bumbobi sub-county in Mbale district.
The injured have been identified as
Mukoya Babra aged 25 years and Wegosasa Ketty, 40, who are both admitted at Mbale regional referral hospital.
The bodies of the dead have been conveyed to Mbale city mortuary pending postmortem examination.
