The territorial Police at Kira Road is holding a driver following an accident that claimed the life of a former Member of Parliament.
ASP Faridah Nampiima, the Traffic Police Spokesperson, said the accident happened at around 1am on Wednesday morning.
The fatal accident at Kiwatule along Northern Bypass involved a motor vehicle registration No. KBZ 539Z Mercedes Benz trailer and motor vehicle Reg UBD 965E Toyota Land Cruiser TX.
The driver of Land Cruiser was identified as Hon. Bafaki Gordon, 48 years old and resident of Namugongo-Kira Division in Wakiso district.
The former MP of Kazo Constituency died on spot and his body was taken to Mulago City Mortuary.
It is alleged that he knocked the rear body of the moving trailer.
The driver of the trailer identified as Kahagi John Kinuthia is in police custody to help in investigations.
