At the time of the unfortunate disaster which occurred at around 5pm on Tuesday, Katushabe was home in Bujengwe village, Karangara parish Kayonza sub-county preparing to return to school after the Easter holiday.

She was outside cleaning her sandals when it started drizzling and suddenly, lightning struck, killing her instantly.

Her mother, Rachel Turyakira who was inside the house was also struck dead.

The Police Spokesperson for Kigezi region, Elly Matte said the incident was unfortunate.

He, however, appealed to Ugandans to install lightning arrestors on their buildings in order to prevent such disasters.
