Guangzhou, China — Just hours after setting a new national record, Team Uganda has done it again — smashing their own record with an electrifying time of 3:15.26 in the 4x400m Mixed Relay at the World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou.

The spirited quartet delivered a performance full of grit, precision, and national pride, rewriting Uganda’s athletics history for the second time in one day.

Although the team fell short of direct qualification to the Paris 2025 World Championships, their impressive run keeps them in strong contention through the repechage round.

The Uganda Athletics Federation expressed immense pride in the team’s historic performance: “We’re so proud of you all. You’ve shown what it means to wear the flag with honor.”

Uganda’s athletes were warmly received in China by Ambassador Judyth Nsababera, Consul General of Uganda in Guangzhou, who applauded their spirit and determination.

“You are already winners for what you’ve achieved and how you carry yourselves,” she said.

This marks a significant moment for Ugandan track and field, as the country’s sprinters continue to prove their mettle on the global stage.

The road ahead may not be easy, but with performances like these, Team Uganda is making it clear: the future of Ugandan athletics is sprinting forward.

All eyes are now on the repechage — and Uganda isn’t backing down.
