Sun King has unveiled its refreshed logo and brand identity marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth. The rebranding reflects a broadened product portfolio in energy and technology solutions.

The refreshed brand was introduced alongside the company’s new campaign, “Switch to More!”, which highlights the expanded range of Sun King solutions now available to households, businesses, and institutions across Africa.

The campaign invites customers to switch to More savings with EasyBuy, Sun King’s flexible pay-as-you-go financing model.

SunKing Country Sales Lead, Peter Mugwanya, said the company is committed to its core mission of empowering people through reliable and affordable energy.

“Our mission has never changed, with more than 24 million households powered to date and over 300,000 new systems installed each month,” he said.

Mugwanya noted Sun King’s rapid growth in Uganda, with new shops, partnerships, and job creation spreading nationwide, especially in the rural areas.

“Our refreshed brand reflects our commitment to deliver more affordable solar, more appliances that make life easier, and more power for homes, businesses, schools, and communities that depend on us,” he said.

While unveiling the new logo, Marianne Arigye, the head of marketing at SunKing,  said the rebrand is a modernised version of the familiar lion emblem, designed to be bolder and more recognisable.

She added that the colour palette is expanding beyond Sun King’s signature yellow to include vibrant blues and oranges that reflect the growing product range.

“Switch to More is about Sun King switching up our brand and inviting customers to switch with us, unlocking the potential of reliable, affordable, sustainable energy. While the look has changed, the trust, dependability, and affordability our customers value remain the same,” noted Arigye.

What’s Changing and What Isn’t

While the logo has been refreshed to reflect growth, Sun King’s core promise has unchanged.

The refreshed identity builds on Sun King’s vision of powering access to brighter lives now and into the future.
