According to Kampala Metropolitan Police, Deputy Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesgyire, the incident is said to have happened on March 15, 2022 at their home in Bulamu.

Owoyesgyire noted that police also has in custody a one Kitimbo Musisi, the victim’s father.

Both the parents are currently detained at Kasangati Police Station.

“The child has been handed over to the Wakiso Probation Officer, who will in turn look for an appropriate home for the child as we look for guardians,” Owoyesigyire noted.

He noted that the police has also examined the child and discovered that she has healing scars, “a sign that shows she was tortured continuously by the parents, severe burn wounds were also seen in her lower body (private area).”
Owoyesigyire cautioned that physical abuse of children is a crime.

“We warn all parents and guardians, who beat children to stop the abuses,” he said.
