The campaign offers clients entries into the monthly prize draws for every UGX 1 million deposited and maintained in their bank accounts. Prizes to be won include smart TVs, refrigerators, cookers, microwaves, washing machines and shopping vouchers.

For every 10 card payments made by clients each month at a Point-of-Sale terminal or e-commerce with their debit cards, they stand a chance to win monthly shopping vouchers. In addition, clients who will deposit and maintain UGX 100 million will qualify for the grand prize draw to be one of the 5 lucky winners to win a fully paid trip for two to Dubai.

Speaking at the launch event held at the Bank’s Head office on Speke Road, the Standard Chartered CEO, Sanjay Rughani, reiterated the Bank’s continued commitment to the Ugandan market, stating, “As Standard Chartered, we continue to invest in innovation, customer experience and economic transformation. Despite our recent announcement to exit our Wealth and Retail Business (WRB), I want to assure our clients, partners, regulators and the general public that we remain firmly committed to this market. Uganda is, and will remain, a strategic priority for Standard Chartered, and we will continue to operate in this market as a corporate and investment Bank while ensuring that our retail clients’ interests are well taken care of in the short and long term. We remain here for good as our brand promise attests.”

Mr. Paul Sefa Badu, Head of Wealth and Retail Banking, added, “We are excited to offer this deposit campaign to clients across our business, personal and affluent banking segments. This campaign has been carefully designed to celebrate our clients by rewarding them for saving, transacting and for their trust in us.

He added, “Saving requires planning and unlocks financial security as it enables someone to look forward to the future without worrying about sudden expenses and to attain their desired financial goals.”

On her part, Lydia Nakamya, the General Manager, Affluent Banking and Wealth Management, said, “We continue to invest in digital infrastructure, innovation and client-centric solutions to improve the banking experience and better serve our clients. One of our strategic priorities is to grow the affluent, and for us to do that, we need to grow with our clients’ wealth and allow them to expand their wealth.”

She added: “We believe that with the right focus, extraordinary agility, the right synergies and curated solutions, we are the best bank to protect our clients’ portfolios and grow their wealth.”

The “Jaguza ne Standard Chartered” campaign is open to clients with current and savings accounts in both local and foreign currencies, as well as term deposit accounts. Standard Chartered Bank Uganda remains one of the country’s top digital banks, committed to delivering value and superior service to its customers.
