Stanbic Bank has committed Shs15 million to sponsor celebrated Ugandan singer Stecia Mayanja’s highly anticipated concert, set to take place on 7th June 2025 at the prestigious Kampala Serena Hotel.
Speaking during a press briefing in Entebbe, Joel Byakika, Flexipay Distribution Manager at Stanbic Bank, emphasised that the sponsorship is aimed at boosting the event’s production value and enhancing the overall experience for fans.
“This partnership reflects our dedication to supporting the arts and empowering Ugandan talent,” Byakika stated. “Uganda is our home, and we drive her growth — a philosophy that guides our efforts in empowering artists, youth, women, and farmers.”
Byakika stressed the broader economic impact of such concerts, highlighting the ripple effects that benefit various sectors of society, from service providers and performers to hairdressers, fashion designers, and boda boda riders.
“When we support events like this, we’re supporting a whole ecosystem,” he noted. “It’s not just Stecia’s win — it’s a win for Uganda’s creative industry and economy.”
He urged the public to purchase tickets through the Flexipay Mobile App or via USSD code *291#, where discounted rates are available. Byakika also spotlighted the role of Flexipay in facilitating economic activity, calling it “Uganda’s most secure ticketing and bill payment platform.”
He revealed that since the launch of Flexipay’s remittance campaign in April, over UGX 25 million has been rewarded to users through a 10% cashback campaign. Additionally, recipients of money transfers stand a chance to win up to UGX 500,000 in cash prizes.

“Flexipay allows Ugandans to send and receive money in over 20 countries — fast, efficiently, and with no fees. It’s more than a tool; it’s a driver of financial inclusion and progress,” Byakika said.
Stecia Mayanja, visibly moved by the support, expressed heartfelt gratitude. “I’m deeply thankful to Stanbic Bank and all my sponsors, friends, and fans — both here and abroad — who have stood by me. This support takes my career to another level,” she said. “I invite everyone to join me and help fill the Serena Hotel. Let’s make history together.”
Fellow musician Catherine Kusasira, who attended the concert launch, praised Stecia’s spirit and talent, describing her as “a joyful and soulful performer who deserves all the support.”
“This isn’t just another show — it’s a defining moment in Stecia’s career. Fans should get ready for a magical night of music and celebration,” Kusasira added.
The concert will feature an all-star lineup of top Ugandan artists, including Misarch Ssemakula, Hajji Haruna Mubiru, Amelia Nambala, Hon. Geoffrey Lutaaya, Irene Namatovu, and others, promising an unforgettable evening.
