Betika proudly partnered with Smash Padel to host the Betika Smash 3.0 Padel Competition, a thrilling three-day event that ran from September 26-28, at the Smash Padel Arena in Kampala.
The competition featured 133 games, with Uganda’s top padel players battling for glory in front of an energetic and passionate crowd.
The atmosphere was electric throughout the weekend as fans turned up in numbers to support their favorite teams and experience one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
As part of its commitment to supporting sports and community engagement in Uganda, Betika awarded UGX 4 million in cash prizes to the winners across various categories.
“At Betika, we believe in fueling passion for sport, building community, and creating opportunities for talent to shine. Padel is a growing sport in Uganda, and we’re proud to have been the first to sponsor such a unique competition,” said Desire Akanduhura., Marketing Lead at Betika Uganda.
“We are thrilled with the success of Smash 3.0. The energy from the players and fans was unmatched, and with Betika’s support, we were able to make this event bigger and better than ever,” added Darshil Shah, Founder of Smash Padel.
One of the tournament winners also shared their excitement after the final:
“Winning this tournament is a big moment for us. The competition was tough, the crowd gave us so much energy, and with Betika’s support, we felt recognized and rewarded. It’s amazing to see padel growing in Uganda, and we’re proud to be part of this journey,” said Erik, Winner 4+ level.
The weekend’s event set the tone for future collaborations between Betika and Smash Padel, with both organizations committed to growing the game and making it more accessible to Ugandans.
