Samantha Muhwezi Kassami has officially joined the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) as its new Chief Operating Officer.
In her capacity, Samantha will oversee the day-to-day operations of UNOC while providing strategic guidance to the organization.
Ms. Samantha Muhwezi Kassami is a seasoned oil and gas professional with extensive hands-on experience in the sector.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE), as well as a Postgraduate Diploma and Master of Laws from BPP University London UK.
Samantha is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales, and an esteemed member of the Law Society, London UK. She honed her skills at Linklaters LLP, a prestigious Magic Circle law firm.
Her journey led her to TotalEnergies S.E. in 2016, where she played a pivotal role in the three-person pipeline project team.
Samantha led negotiations for the pipeline and contributed to all facets, culminating in the project’s Final Investment Decision in 2022.
With broad technical and managerial expertise across the oil and gas spectrum, Samantha possesses an intrinsic understanding of its framework and processes.
She served as part of the senior leadership at TotalEnergies, seconded to EACOP, contributing to its establishment as a reputable company while spearheading project delivery.
Additionally, Samantha pioneered the EACOP Women’s Initiative, a community-led platform within EACOP, fostering networking, mentorship, and empowerment among women.
