Police Identify Victims of UBC Roundabout Accident, Driver on the Run

Police have identified the victims of an accident that happened at a roundabout along Nile Avenue in Kampala city on Friday night.

The incident involving a Toyota Hiace registration number UAW 987Y happened at 7:30pm at radio one village (UBC Roundabout).

Two people died on spot while scores were injured and have been admitted at different facilities in the city.

The victims have been identified as; Namusiima Patience, Nakito Prossy, Nasasira Fortunate, Nampija Carolie, Bigo Grace, Nalukwago Nashiba, Akello Teddy, Kyakuwa Faith, Abiel Rachael and Gumusiriza Alex.

They remain admitted at Mulago and Kibuli hospitals respectively. O

ASP Faridah Nampiima, the Spokesperso Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, said one body remains unidentified while the second one has been identified as that of Banyonyi Richard.

She said the driver of the vehicle is still on the run but efforts are underway to have him arrested and prosecuted.
