Police Arrest ASP Clive Nsiima Over Assault on Shell Supermarket Attendant in Kyanja

Kampala — Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Clive Nsiima has been arrested after CCTV footage captured him slapping a supermarket attendant at the Shell station in Kyanja during a dispute over an unpaid bill of Shs 30,000.

The video shows Nsiima, dressed in plain clothes, verbally confronting the cashier before striking her twice. He is heard saying, “Have you ever driven such a car? Do you think I can run away with Shs 100,000?”

Police confirmed the arrest in a joint operation by Kyanja Police Post and the Professional Standards Unit (PSU).

Nsiima, who is assigned to the Counter Terrorism Directorate under the Oil and Gas Protection Unit, is expected to face charges under Sections 235 and 236 of the Penal Code Act, which carry penalties of up to five years’ imprisonment.

The victim has filed an official complaint and is receiving medical and counseling support. The case is registered under reference 08/07/10/25 at Kyanja Police Post.
