Pallaso, Azawi win big at Janzi Awards

Artists Pius Mayanja and Swangz Avenue's Azawi scooped big at this year’s Janzi awards.

Artists Pius Mayanja and Swangz Avenue’s Azawi scooped big at this year’s Janzi awards.

Pallaso was voted as the best male artist of the year, while Azawi was the best female artist of the year, best Album of the year.

Afrigo Band’s Moses Matovu, was awarded the Life time achievement award, The late Moses Ssekibogo, alias Mowzey Radio, scooped the legendary award.

TV Drama Baguma produced by Jakira Suudi, scooped the best TV Drama award.

Sylvia Damalie Owori the Chief organiser of the awards, thanked all the participants and sponsors for making the event successful.

Owori, noted that they will hold the same awards in December 2022.

The Janzi awards were a two day event with the first day being reserved for the silent arts in the performing arts, visual arts and crafts, books and publishing, software and innovations, cultural and natural heritage and support service categories.
