The body of fallen former Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon. Jacob Oulanyah will arrive in the country on Friday 1, the minister for Presidency, Milly Babalanda has said.

“Fellow Ugandans, I wish to confirm that the body of our beloved Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah will arrive in Uganda this Friday, we shall then have a week-long series of activities for his burial, ” Babalanda who is also the chairperson of the National Organising Committee (NOC) for the burial, announced through her Official Twitter handle.

She is Tomorrow, Tuesday 29, expected to give a detailed program.

Oulanyah breathed his last in Seattle, USA where he had earlier been admitted for specialised treatment.

Last Week on Monday, president Museveni directed that the Ugandan flag, one for the East African Community and all flags in Uganda should be flown at half-mast at all public buildings and public grounds to mourn the fallen Speaker of Parliament.

On Friday, Parliament voted Former Deputy Speaker Anita Among as the new Speaker, Among was also replaced by former Government Chief Whip Thomas Tayebwa, this was in accordance with Article 82(4) of the Constitution of Uganda provides which states that no business shall be transacted in Parliament other than election to the office of Speaker at any time that office is vacant.
