Nile Breweries Employee Killed in Fatal Accident Along Mbarara – Bushenyi Road

A fatal accident involving a truck and a saloon car knocked and killed an employee of Nile Breweries at Katunjo along the Mbarara – Bushenyi road on Sunday, Police has said.

According to Police spokesperson for Rwizi region, ASP Samson Kasasira, the incident happened on Sunday at around 9:30pm.

The accident involved Nissan salon car Reg No UAD 271A and fuel truck number Reg No UAX 563L/UAD 960Q.

ASP Kasasira said the fuel truck rammed into Nissan car killing its driver on spot.

Nile Breweries later issued a press statement identifying the deceased as Noah Dhikusooka aged 37, an Engineering Stores Clerk at the brewery. Dhikusooka hailed from Iganga district.

Police said the body was taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital (MRRH).

Kasasira revealed that the truck driver was briefly apprehended, recorded his statement and was later released on police bond.

The accident was as a result of reckless driving, Police said.
