Mukono Municipality MP, Betty Nambooze’s deteriorating health condition has left her fellow legislators and other sympathizers with no option but to reveal plans of storming Kiruddu Hospital and extract her out of the facility.
The plans have been communicated by Kira Municipality MP, Ibrahim Semujju Nganda while addressing press at FDC headquarters on Monday.
Nambooze who is admitted at Kiruddu hospital and under hospital arrest was arrested by Police nine days ago and charged for offensive communication. She is accused of making offensive statements in the wake of the assassination of Arua Municipality MP, Ibrahim Abiriga.

Nambooze’s condition in Kiruddu hospital is said by those who have visited her to be worsening.
Such concerns have been raised by the Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) Chairperson, Meddy Kaggwa who asked the Police chief to allow the legislator to seek the required specialized medical attention abroad.
“Parliament was supposed to facilitate Nambooze to go for a medical review in India where she was operated following the raid on Parliament, but this hasn’t happened because Police has since kept her under arrest,” Nganda who is FDC’s Spokesperson told reporters at the party headquarters on Monday.

“As her colleagues, tomorrow at 11am, we shall go and get her from Kiruddu hospital and take her back home. If Museveni wants Nambooze to die, she can also die from her home because you can’t pretend to be treating someone when you are not treating her,” Nganda said.
Nganda added that “we have taken a decision as her colleagues that tomorrow at 11am, we shall go and remove Nambooze from that facility”.
If they want all of us to die from there, we shall be ready to do so, he added.
