President Museveni will officially launch the Census 2024 exercise on Tuesday 12th December 2023, at 2 pm at the Kololo Independence grounds.
“The long wait is over and we are ready to roll,” said the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) in a message on X.
Earlier, UBOS postponed the launch of the National Population and Housing Census 2024 which was planned for November 30, 2023, at Kololo Independence Grounds.
UBOS Executive Director, Dr Chris Mukiza, cited unforeseen circumstances.
In a statement released on Friday, December 8, 2023, James Muwonge, the chairperson of the census launch committee, said the launch would be attended by different stakeholders who had earlier been invited.
“All invited stakeholders are required to take a COVID-19 test on Monday, December 11, 2023, at either Mulago Platinum, State House-Lumumba Avenue or Statistics House Conference Hall,” Muwonge noted.
