The delegation updated the President on progress towards the National Resistance Movement (NRM)’s vision of transforming Uganda into a science-driven, modern economy. Key milestones presented included the manufacturing of electric vehicles, the production of diagnostic kits, the standardisation of natural medicines, and advances in machine-building technologies.

President Museveni commended the scientists for “finally waking up” to their role in national transformation and pledged continued government support to accelerate their work.

On human capital development, the President challenged the team to move beyond blaming colonial legacies, stressing the need for Uganda to harness and modernise traditional knowledge through mechanisation and standardisation to create wealth and prosperity.

Dr Musenero thanked the President for his unwavering support of science, technology, and innovation, affirming that her team is committed to advancing a science-led approach to Uganda’s development.
