Museveni Lifts Ban on DGF

President Museveni with investors from Denmark led by the Danish Minister for Development and Co-operation

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has lifted the suspension on the Democratic Governance Facility (DGF), a consortium of donors for governance programs in Uganda.

The President made the revelation on Wednesday during a meeting at State House Entebbe with Danish investors who expressed interest to invest in Uganda.

Museveni said that DGF whose activities were suspended last year, will resume operations on condition that Government is represented in its decision-making structures.

President Museveni

The Danish Minister for Development Cooperation, Hon Flemming Miller Mortensen and the Danish Ambassador Nicolaj Hejberg Peters en had appealed to President Museveni and said that the project had only 6 months left to elapse.

After responding to their prayer, Museveni pitched investment in Uganda, assuring the Danish investors of markets in Uganda, East Africa, Africa, U.S. and China.

Hon. Mortensen told the President that Denmark would establish new programs in Uganda in the areas of Human rights, Civic Education and Accountability and that the country is keen on the relationship with Uganda.

The Minister assured Museveni that Denmark will be a good partner who will continue to support development projects in Uganda.
