Mayuge — President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the National Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, commissioned a newly constructed party office in Mayuge District, marking a key highlight of his campaign trail across the Busoga sub-region.
The new facility, situated in Katwe Village, Mayuge Town Council, will serve as the NRM’s permanent regional headquarters in Busoga. The office is situated on a 100-by-75-foot titled piece of land donated by Hon. Aggrey Henry Bagiire, Bunya West County MP.

President Museveni, accompanied by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni, made a stopover to unveil the office before heading to his final rally of the day. He was joined by senior party officials, including NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda, Hon. Calvin Echodu, NRM Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, and 3rd Deputy Prime Minister and Mayuge Woman MP Rt. Hon. Rukia Nakadama Isanga.
In a symbolic moment, the President cut a yellow ribbon to mark the official opening and toured the facility. He applauded local leaders for their commitment to strengthening party structures, saying well-organised grassroots offices are vital for effective mobilisation.

After the ceremony, President Museveni proceeded to a campaign rally where thousands of supporters had gathered. He reiterated the NRM’s core message of peace, socio-economic transformation, wealth creation, job creation, and improved education—priority pillars outlined in the party’s 2026–2031 Manifesto.
The new Mayuge party office is expected to enhance coordination of NRM activities in Busoga as the country heads toward the 2026 general elections, further consolidating the party’s organisational presence and mobilisation network across the region.
