Nairobi, Kenya — President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni arrived in Nairobi this morning for an official visit aimed at deepening bilateral ties between Uganda and Kenya.
The Ugandan leader was received with full honors at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and is scheduled to hold high-level discussions with his Kenyan counterpart, President William Ruto, later today.

In a brief statement issued upon arrival, President Museveni expressed optimism about the visit and its potential impact on regional cooperation.
“I have arrived in Nairobi this morning for an official visit. Looking forward to engaging in bilateral talks with H.E. President William Ruto, as we work together to strengthen the bond between Uganda and Kenya,” he said.

The visit is expected to focus on trade, infrastructure, regional security, and joint efforts to boost East African economic integration.
Uganda and Kenya enjoy longstanding diplomatic and economic ties. Kenya remains one of Uganda’s largest trading partners and a key transit route for Ugandan imports and exports through the Port of Mombasa.

President Museveni’s visit comes at a time of renewed regional collaboration under the East African Community (EAC), and both leaders are expected to reaffirm commitments to key projects including the Standard Gauge Railway and energy interconnection initiatives.
Details of the joint communiqué and outcomes from the bilateral talks are expected to be released following the official meetings.
