“We have brought on board the leading hotels and restaurants and their chefs who will prepare different types of fish species in the best and unique forms. People will enjoy fish pizza, fish fillet, ekibeero and many other kinds,” said one of the members of organisers in an interview with SoftPower News.

Fish will be picked from Uganda’s water bodies including but not limited to Lake Victoria , lake Albert, lake Kyoga, River Nile etc for exhibition.

Fish farmers like Go Fish shall also exhibit their fish and give people an opportunity to pick live fish of their interest directly from their aquariums and will be prepared in the desired form.

According to organisers, this year’s event will be held at the Uganda Museum with adults paying an entrance of Shs 10,000 and Shs 5,000 children.

Last year’s event was held at Entebbe Zoo beach and attracted thousands of people, who used the day to among others taste the unmatched fish delicacy, learn its preparation and connect with possible partners in the fishing industry.

However, organisers have tipped May 5’s event to be far much better than that of last year since they are working hand in hand with the Directorate of Fisheries, Federation for Fish processors and Transporters of Uganda (FFOU), Uganda Fisheries and Fish Conservation Association (UFFCA ) to ensure over 100 fish species from all the water bodies of the country including the rare electric fish is exhibited.
