Dr. Kedrace Turyagyenda has taken over as the new Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, following her recent appointment.
Dr. Kedrace brings extensive experience in education management to her new role.
Her appointment is expected to bolster the ministry’s efforts in improving Uganda’s education sector.
She holds a Doctorate in Education Management from Nkumba University, MSc from Leicester University in UK and a BSc & Diploma in Education from Makerere University.
She has served as a Commissioner for Secondary Education Standards and Member of Education Policy Review Commission.
Dr. Turyagyenda’s dedication to education and her extensive experience make her a respected voice in Uganda’s education sector.
The First Lady of Uganda and the Minister for Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, congratulated Dr. Turyagyenda on her new role, expressing confidence in the ministry’s ability to provide a secure and supportive learning environment for students despite challenges posed by the Red-Eye outbreak and recent cases of monkeypox.
“I congratulate Dr. Kedrace Turyagyenda on her appointment as the new Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education,” Janet Museveni said.
“Despite the challenges, we remain committed to ensuring our students receive quality education,” she added.
She thanked Dr. Jane Egau Okou, the Under Secretary in the Ministry, for her contributions during her acting tenure. The the Minister for Education expressed confidence in Dr. Okou’s collaborative efforts with Dr. Turyagyenda.
