Her application will be heard Thursday at 11:am.

She has been on remand at Luzira prison since April 19 after she was charged with dealing with suspect property in connection to the Karamoja iron sheets scandal.

She was instantly committed to the High Court shortly after she took a plea.

However, the minister filed for bail, on grounds that its her constitutional right to apply for bail, she has a health condition that needs close attention, a known place of aboard, a young family and elderly parents, all who depend on her.

Court also set May 25 as the date to start hearing of the case.

Trial judge, Lady Justice Jane Kajuga Okuo, directed that the state completes disclosure of evidence against Nandutu to her lawyers by May, 5, 2023  before trial officially kicks off on May, 25.

Prosecution alleges that Nandutu between June and July 2022, at the Office of the Prime Minister’s stores in Namanve, and in Kkola Cell, Bulwanyi Parish, Mukono District, dealt with government property to which 2,000 pre-painted iron sheets of gauge 28 marked office of the Prime Minister.

Nandutu is among the three ministers who have so far been arraigned before courts of law in connection with the alleged diversion of iron sheets meant for vulnerable people of Karamoja.

Others are; Mary Goretti Kitutu, the Minister for Karamoja Affairs, Amos Lugoloobi, the State Minister for Finance, Planning, and Economic Development.
