Red Pepper Publications have been ordered by the Media Council to pay media personality Faridah Nakazibwe Shs 45 million.
The order was issued following Nakazibwe’s petition to the Media Council in which she complained that local tabloids, Red Pepper and Hello publications used her pictures without her consent to publish 38 articles in a period of one year.
In delivering the order to pay Nakazibwe, Media Council Chairman Paulo Ekachu said that the council had found that the tabloids invaded Nakazibwe’s privacy.
“This was invasion of her privacy and we therefore order Red pepper to pay her a fine amounting to Shs 45 million shillings,” Ekachu said.
