Buganda road chief magistrate’s court has committed seven people charged with the murder of Maj Muhammad Kiggundu last year.

The committed are Sheikh Yahaya Mwanje, the acting Tabliq Muslim leader, Buyondo Muhammed, Sendegeya Abdu Wahab, Sekandi Musa, Nyanzi Yusuf and Silaj Kalyango Jibri.

The group was last week charged with murder, aiding and abetting terrorism and being members of Allied Democratic Forces, a terrorist organization.

Today, the state prosecutor Lilian Omara told chief magistrate Jameson Karemani that investigations into the case had been completed and asked for committal of the accused to High Court for trial.

The state alleges that the accused together with others still at large killed Maj Kiggundu together with his bodyguard, Sgt Steven Mukasa in Masanafu.

It is also alleged that the group between 2017 and 2010 rendered support to ADF, a recognized terrorist organization on top of recruiting for the organization.

They were remanded back to Luzira prison.
