Hoima City – Hon. Moses Hassim Magogo has been re-elected as President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) for the 2025–2029 term, following a vote by delegates at the 101st FUFA Annual General Assembly (AGM) held on Saturday in Hoima City.
Magogo, who first assumed the presidency in 2013, expressed gratitude to delegates for renewing his mandate, pledging a fresh wave of commitment to transform Ugandan football over the next four years. “Our passion and commitment will only be new,” Magogo said. “We will give the best of our abilities, so please work with us to achieve our set objectives.”
In a wide-ranging address to football stakeholders, Magogo reflected on the federation’s journey over the past decade, noting that what once seemed impossible has now become standard. He credited FUFA’s progress to training, experience, institutional discipline, and what he called “the Will of God.”
He also outlined a five-point vision for his new term: Sport – Implementation of the FUFA Technical Master Plan and competition reforms; Business –Prioritisation of revenue generation, fair compensation for players, and brand enhancement; Major Tournaments – Positioning Uganda to successfully co-host CHAN and AFCON 2027; Stakeholder Engagement – Strengthening collaboration with partners to support football initiatives; and Consolidation of Achievements – Building on successes to further elevate the game.
Magogo acknowledged existing challenges such as limited resources, entrenched mindsets, and integrity issues in the sport, but remained confident that Uganda’s football future is bright. “We have created a platform to professionalise and commercialise the game,” he said. “With improved infrastructure, now is the right time to drive change and generate more resources.”
Having served Ugandan football for 12 years, Magogo reaffirmed his personal sacrifice and commitment to the sport, urging both voting and non-voting stakeholders to unite behind his leadership. “Together, we can unlock the full potential of Ugandan football and build a brighter future for our sport and nation,” he concluded.
