Made in Africa Uganda Centre Showroom has been inaugurated in Gulu City.
Spearheaded by Retired General Caleb Akandwanaho Salim Saleh, the Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), the transformative initiative aims to promote industrialisation, market facilitation and regional integration.
The showroom which was opened on December 23, will feature products from the Liao Shen Industrial Park (LSIP) in Namunkekera, Kapeeka, making high-quality goods more accessible to clients and stakeholders in Northern Uganda and beyond.
Speaking at the launch, Gen Saleh emphasized the role that such initiatives play in transforming Uganda’s economy.
“Our goal is to ensure that Uganda becomes a hub for the production of high-quality goods, not just for our domestic market but also for export,” he stated, adding that “the showroom is more than just a display centre—it is a strategic move to empower local industries and provide them with the platform they need to grow and thrive”.
According to Gen Saleh, the showroom will enable members of the public, traders and potential investors to view and purchase products made in Uganda, thus encouraging both consumption and investment within the country.
By providing a direct link between manufacturers and the public, the showroom is expected to contribute to the growth of local businesses, create jobs, and support the development of Uganda’s value-added industries.
