Col Ronald Rwivanga, military spokesperson said: “The situation in the area is normal and security assured. Officials are assessing the extent of the damage.”

He added: “The RDF has requested for urgent investigation by the regional EJVM, and Rwandan authorities are also engaging DRC counterparts over the incident.”

However, DR Congo rejected Rwanda’s accusations saying Rwanda Defence Force backs M23.

It is not the first time Congolese authorities accuse Rwanda of backing M23.
