Son to Lt Col Francis Ongia, Denis Alyenyo who was reportedly abducted by unknown people has finally resurfaced.
It is reported that Alenyo, was abducted on the night of April 5 from his house in Maga Maga, Mayuge district along the Jinja-Iganga highway in Eastern Uganda.
According to his father, Col Ongia who is Amolatar district Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), Denis was dumped at the Northern Bypass in Kampala on Sunday morning, before he walked to Kiira road police station where he recorded a statement.
The army officer took to his facebook account and posted: “Glory and honor be given to our Lord Jesus Christ. My son Denis Alyenyo is alive, was dumped at the Northern Bypass and he walked up-to police. Now with the family.”
He revealed to this website that his son has recorded a statement at Kiira Road Police Station and is currently at Nakasero Hospital undergoing medical treatment.
“Dennis was dirty and frail,” said Lt Col Ongia.

It is reported that the abductors had demanded a ransom of Shs 15 million as condition for releasing Alyenyo but in a rather strange twist, his father Col Ongia objected to offer the money, and instead asked the ‘kidnappers’ to release his son before Sunday April 8 (today).
“No ransom was paid. I had given them up to Sunday (today) to release my son or they would never hear from me again,” he said.
Alyenyo’s reported abduction happened as the country is still recovering from the shocking kidnap and murder of Suzan Magara, a business lady, who was also abducted by unknown people.
More recently, another woman identified as Charity Kyoheirwe who had been reported missing was killed and her body was later found dumped in Nalukolongo, Rubaga Division, a Kampala suburb two days later.
