A bus belonging to Link Bus Company has been ambushed by armed men and its passengers robbed.
According to reports, the gunmen allegedly attacked the bus registration number UBG 423G at around 2am on Friday morning along the Kampala-Mubende highway in Mityana District.
Wamala Region Police Spokesperson, Rachel Kawala, told Daily Monitor that the incident happened at Bamujugu swamp where about 10 robbers, armed with guns and hammers, staged an illegal roadblock.
All its 65 passengers were ordered to get off the bus and robbed of phones and money.
The early morning bus was traveling from Bundibugyo to Kampala city.
This comes shortly after a Link bus caught fire at Wakaliga traffic lights in Natete, Kampala.
The buses have just returned to the road after a suspension following a Fort Portal accident that killed 23 people.
