The government has extended the LC I and LC II term of office for another term of six months.
The term of office of LCs which expires today July 3 will be “extended for a period of not exceeding one hundred and eighty days from July 4, 2024”.
This is contained in the Uganda Gazette released on July 2, 2024.
Raphael Magyezi, the Minister of Local Government, said in a public notice that the extension of the term of office of administrative unit councils (Local Council I and Local Council II starts Wednesday, July 3, to December 2024.
