Hon. Lady Justice Naluzze Aisha Batala has officially taken office as the new Inspector General of Government (IGG), marking the beginning of her tenure at the helm of Uganda’s anti-corruption agency.
She was warmly received at the Inspectorate of Government headquarters by Deputy Inspectors General of Government Dr Patricia Achan Okiria and Ms Anne Twino, alongside the Secretary to the Inspectorate, Mrs Rose N. Kafeero.

In its statement, the Inspectorate of Government congratulated and welcomed Lady Justice Batala, expressing confidence in her leadership as she takes on the constitutional mandate to fight corruption and promote accountability across the public sector.
Shortly after assuming office, Lady Justice Batala held her inaugural meeting with the IG management team, where she outlined the guiding principles that will define her leadership: Integrity, Professionalism, and Teamwork.

She emphasised that teamwork will be central to strengthening the Inspectorate’s impact in advancing Uganda’s anti-corruption agenda. “I am banking on teamwork to propel this institution forward,” she told the management team during the meeting held in the IGG boardroom.
Lady Justice Batala also extended her gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for entrusting her with the responsibility to lead the Inspectorate of Government.

Her appointment ushers in a new chapter for the IG, with renewed expectations for stronger enforcement, enhanced public trust, and a revitalised fight against corruption.
