“I congratulate His Majesty King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV on your 27th Coronation Anniversary as Tooro Kingdom marks 200 years. I wish you God’s wisdom, good health and prosperity for the people and Kingdom of Tooro,” said his Queen Mother, Best Kemigisa.

“MTN Uganda, congratulates the King of Tooro, His Majesty, Rukirabashaija Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV on your 27 years of peaceful, development-focused, and diligent leadership of the people of Tooro,” said Ag CEO Andrew Bugembe in a congratulatory message.

In his speech, King Oyo called upon his subjects to desist from actions that bring about division in the kingdom and instead seek to foster it’s development through unity.

He cited a 25-year development program for the kingdom which includes, among other things, promoting commercial agriculture, tourism and skilling the youths.

King Oyo said he started a youth centre in Muchwa (kingdom administrative headquarters) so that the youth can learn vocational skills to help them create jobs.

“We shall continue supporting it, and in the near future, the kingdom will establish a youth skilling and incubation centre in districts across Tooro,” he is quoted as saying.

The King further said that he wants to start teaching his people how to use their small pieces of land so that they can generate more income.

“I have a demonstration farm and I appeal to all my subjects to visit it and learn.”
