“Poultry plays a crucial role in Uganda’s economy, and Kenchic’s entry into the market signifies a positive step towards enhancing the quality of day-old chicks, supporting local farmers, and collectively improving the industry,” remarked Nabbanja.

Nomsa Mufandauya, General Manager of Kenchic Uganda, expressed enthusiasm, emphasizing their commitment to providing quality day-old chicks and offering technical assistance to farmers nationwide.

“The $3.5 million state-of-the-art hatchery in Uganda is not only a milestone for our company but also a testament to our dedication to the growth and empowerment of poultry farmers in Uganda and the region,” Mufandauya stated.

She highlighted that the hatchery is expected to create at least 1000 jobs directly and indirectly within a year, with the potential for further growth as demand increases.

Dr. Anna Rose Adenum, the commissioner in charge of animal health in the Ministry of Agriculture, commended Kenchic for addressing the historical challenge of importing day-old chicks due to the lack of quality poultry products locally.

Kenchic’s flagship product, day-old chicks, including Broilers, Layers, and the distinctive Kenbro, caters to specific poultry farming needs. These chicks form the foundation of Kenchic’s mission to uplift the livelihoods of local poultry farmers and contribute to enduring legacies across generations.

Brian Kyangulanyi, Key Account Manager at Kenchic Uganda, emphasized the pivotal role their premium day-old chicks play in enhancing the livelihoods of poultry farmers throughout the region, supported by comprehensive training and assistance for optimal yields and sustainable success
