Kabarole district council is in its final stages of passing its industrial park policy, Richard Rwabuhinga the district chairperson has said.
Development of the policy follows commissioning of the construction of the Kabarole district Industrial Park by the Operation Wealth Creation Chief Coordinator, Gen Salim Saleh (Rtd) in September.
The industrial park is located on a 100 acre piece of land in Kyembogo village Rwengaju Parish Busoro Sub County.
Rwabuhinga says that the main objective of the policy is to create a framework that supports joint participation of the public in development of scientific and technological competencies for the production of value-added goods and services and widening the tax base.
“The industrial park policy is in its final stages of being passed by the district council. We have already tabled it for the first time in council and will be passed before this year ends,” Rwabuhinga said.
He also explained that the Uganda Land Commission has already allocated land to the district and that the solicitor general has also given his opinion on the matter.
