For the past decade, Umutoni Monalisa, popularly known as Mona Faces, has been a trailblazer in Uganda’s makeup industry, transforming faces, breaking barriers, and inspiring a new generation of beauty entrepreneurs.
At just 22, Mona set out to redefine Uganda’s beauty industry, turning her passion into a business at a time when professional makeup artistry was barely recognized.
To commemorate this milestone, Johnnie Walker Uganda, through its She Walks program, will host an exclusive event to honor Mona’s journey and contributions to the beauty industry.
“Mona’s journey is a true reflection of what the She Walks program stands for – women who take bold strides, challenge the status quo, and create opportunities for others,” said Christine Kyokunda, Johnnie Walker Brand Manager.
The She Walks Sip Over event, scheduled for March 8, 2025, will bring together trailblazing women to connect, inspire, and celebrate resilience. Mona’s legacy extends beyond her thriving business, having opened doors for young artists, created opportunities, and proven that makeup is about confidence, empowerment, and self-expression.
Through the She Walks program, Johnnie Walker aims to honor Mona’s remarkable journey and toast to the future of beauty entrepreneurship in Uganda.
