Uganda Cranes Captain Dennis Onyango has this evening announced that he is retiring from International football and from Uganda Cranes with immediate effect.
“It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing my retirement from international football,” Onyango said.
He added, “after much consideration, my family, managers and I, decided it was in my best interest to hang my gloves on my beloved Cranes 🇺🇬 .Big thanks to every Ugandan over the years.”
Onyango has also officially notified the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA).
“It has been a great pleasure and honour to represent my country and I will always appreciate the experience and knowledge that I have gained while playing for the Cranes,” Onyango said in a letter dated 12 April, 2021 to FUFA President, Moses Magogo.
He said the letter represents his official retirement with effect from 12 April 2021.
“I believe that my notice-period is sufficient enough for the technical team to adequately prepare my replacement for the upcoming matches,” Onyango concluded wishing all the best in their future endeavours and challenges.
