Things could have taken a not-so-intersting twist for Kenyan gospel singer, Alex Apoko alias Ringtone after socialite Zari Hassan turned down his request to get involved in a love affair.
For the last few weeks, Ringtone has been all about Zari and expressing his strong desire to have her in his circles or better still, marry her. Ringtone, who this year claimed his networth was over Kshs 800 million says he’s a successful businessman and is wealthy enough to take care of Zari and her kids. At one point, the ‘Rudi Nyumbani’ singer declared himself the wealthiest musician in Kenya.
Ringtone took his wooing game a notch higher when he posted a photo of his cows saying that he was ready to pay Zari’s dowry. The singer also offered to gift the mother of five with his newly acquired Range Rover.
“To be honest, Zari is beautiful, she is entrepreneurial and she’s from our region of East Africa. I have been looking for her number. I want her to be my friend…” Ringtone is quoted to have told a Kenyan news site.
“And above all, if God decides, she [Zari] will be my wife”.
Ringtone said he is single, blessed, successful and handsome, thus nothing was to hold him back from dating Zari.
But when Zari was asked to respond to Ringtone while appearing on Citizen TV’s 10 over 10 show Friday, she said “I’m not interested”.
“I really dont know about this guy, I have never met him and I’ve never chatted with him. He claims to be chatting with me but am not chatting with him”.
Zari, who lives a lavish lifestyle and loves the spotlight seemed not blown away despite the expensive offers Ringtone was willing to part with in order to be his lover. Not even the Range Rover.
“About the Range Rover, I just got myself one last week. I don’t think I need one”.
Zari broke up with Tanzanian music star, Diamond Platnumz on Valentine’s Day this year for among other reasons claiming Diamond was an incessant cheater. She has since been withdrawn and she recently said she isn’t ready to get into another relationship.
But in order not to beat down her admirer’s spirit, Zari complimented Ringtone for his courage and his success.
In the meantime, Ringtone might have to keep working his charm as it seems, impressing his crush, Zari takes a whole lot more than the singer could have anticipated.
