Youths in Ibanda district have been advised against being consumed by earthly obsessions which will only vanish and destroy their lives.

This message was passed on by Bishop Moses Nkwasiibwe of Kiburara Global Center Church in Ishongororo town council during the official opening of the 15th annual youth conference on Wednesday.

The conference was themed on ‘Knowing Christ’ as derived from the Biblical book of John.

Nkwasiibwe appealed to the young people to dedicate their lives to Jesus Christ who is the only guarantor of a prosperous and righteous life.

“We need to live a Godly life as the youths. The moment we grow in the fear of God, that’s when we will be righteous and make good citizens of our nation,” he said.

Bishop Nkwasiibwe further urged the youths to engage in developmental projects rather than the obsession with in earthly things that can tarnish their image.

“Desist from things that will end up destroying your lives – like alcoholism, drug addiction, homosexuality and all sorts of evils that could destroy our society our nation”.

He revealed that during the course of the conference, youths will be equipped and trained in handcrafts, knitting among others handiwork.

“We are empowering young girls and women with skills like knitting and sowing. We have been blessed to have experts from USA who have travelled to come and equip young girls and women with tailoring skills and designing to earn a living so that they don’t become beggars,” said Nkwasiibwe.

The conference will attract men of God from USA, South Africa and the whole of East Africa.
