Uganda’s Ambassador to Germany, Stephen Mubiru, has led a delegation of German e-mobility companies, including Hofer Powertrain and Faissner Petermeier Fahrzeugtechnik AG, on a tour to the National Enterprise Corporation, and Kiira Motors in Jinja.
The visits aimed at establishing potential areas of collaboration and explore investment opportunities in Uganda’s e-mobility sector.
The team met and held discussions with the Managing Director of NEC, Gen James Mugira.

At Kira motors, they were received by Eng Richard Madanda, Director of Product Development at Kiira Motors, who expressed gratitude for the visit and pledged to work together to advance the e-mobility industry in Uganda.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Stephen Kyaterekera, also engaged with the companies, encouraging them to partner with Ugandan firms like Kiira Motors and the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC).
Kyaterekera assured the team of the government’s support for their investments, highlighting Uganda’s potential as a hub for e-mobility innovation.
He also invited the companies to explore Uganda’s tourism industry, showcasing the country’s natural beauty and attractions.
The Kiira Vehicle Plant, located in Jinja, is the largest and most capable bus manufacturing facility in Africa.
