Lt Gen (Retired) Henry Tumukunde, the former Minister for Security has camped in Rukungiri in support of NRM’s candidate Winnie Matsiko ahead of the by – election for district woman MP seat.
The Electoral Commission set May 31, as the polling date for the by-election.
Rukungiri woman parliamentary seat fell vacant after court led by former Deputy Chief Justice, Stephen Kavuma nullified the election of NRM’s Winfred Matsiko. FDC’s candidate, Betty Muzanira had petitioned court citing voter bribery.
