Furaha Finserve Uganda Limited has partnered with SurePay, a leading school payments aggregator, to expand access to affordable, seamless school-fee financing for families across Uganda.

Through this partnership, parents paying school fees via the SurePay platform will be able to access the first-of-its-kind, purpose-based school-fee loans, paid directly to schools, helping them keep children in school without disruption.

Furaha has supported over 20,000 children in remaining in school across more than 5,000 schools nationwide and enabled thousands of parents to access credit for the first time.

This partnership builds on Furaha’s partnerships with Diamond Trust Bank and Cairo Bank Uganda to support 1 million children in school to remain in school, while advancing SurePay’s commitment to strengthening how schools and parents transact.

Furaha is also signing partnerships with other leading banking players in the coming weeks.

Through this partnership, Furaha’s purpose-based education financing will be a transformative addition to SurePay’s payments ecosystem, providing parents with instant, affordable access to financing that supports their child’s learning and development.

This also benefits the schools by providing growth and consistency in fees collected every term, enabling them to plan more effectively, improve operational efficiency, and, above all, provide the children with the quality education they deserve.

Dennis Musinguzi, CEO, Furaha Finserve Uganda Limited, said: “Our shared belief that a child’s education journey should be uninterrupted is reinforced in this collaboration. The innovation we have built also underpins our commitment to solving fundamental challenges for parents and guardians in a meaningful and dignified manner. This partnership with SurePay is another major step Furaha has taken to improve the lives of families in real ways.”

“Predictable fee collection is essential for schools to operate effectively, and parents benefit when payments and financing are simple, secure, and flexible,” said Moses Okiror, CEO, SurePay.

“Our partnership with Furaha enhances the value we provide to schools and families by integrating responsible school fees financing directly into the SurePay platform. Together, we are helping safeguard learning continuity for the next generation of Ugandans.”

Parents can apply for the school fees loan for up to 4 (four) children per parent by dialling *165*80#.
