FULL LIST: Winners of the 2018 Digital Impact Awards

This year's winners displaying their accolades during the Awards ceremony at Serena Hotel.

Centenary Bank, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and MTN Uganda are some of the winners that were recognized during the just concluded Digital Impact Awards.

The 2018 Digital Impact Awards Africa were held on Friday evening at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

URA emerged as Best e-service, Centenary Bank was named Digital Brand of the year while MTN MoMo was the Best Financial Inclusion Services Provider.

This year’s was the fifth time the awards organised by HiPipo and partners were taking place.

Companies and government agencies made submissions to compete for innovativeness, product usability and application of digital proficiency to improve delivery of services.

“The awards are aimed at recognizing and rewarding individuals and organisations across Africa that are spearheading the use of digital tools to “not only enhance financial and digital inclusion but also lead to continental economic transformation,” said the organisers about the awards themed “Include Everyone” for which over 100 submissions were made.

Best Financial Inclusion Services Provider – MTN MoMo

Best e-service – Uganda Revenue Authority

Best Financial Services for the Poor Enabler – M-Pesa

Best Use of Digital by Microfinance to improve Financial Inclusion – Pride Micro Finance

Commended Mobile Apps Advancement (new/upgrade) – SafeBoda

Best Digital Customer Experience (utilities/govt agency) – National Water and Sewerage Cooperation

Best Fintech Revolutionary Product – M-KOPA for Energy

Best Telecom App – My Vodacom

Best E-Commerce Platform – Jumia

Best Saving and Lending Product (Digital Driven) – Airtel/JUMO Wewole

Commendation for Advancing Financial Inclusion of Women – Finance Trust Bank (Loan Ku Simu)

Commended Bank-Led Digital Product for Microcredit – Centenary Bank (Centemobile Loans)

Best Digital Customer Experience by Technology Brand – Airtel

Commendation for Trade Digitization
Non-Tariff Barrier (NTBs) Reporting System implemented by Ministry of Trade and Sponsored by TradeMark EA

Best Govt organization on Social Media – KCCA
